Modem Messed Up??

Well we were hit by a bad nasty storm that knocked out power in some parts of minnesota but only our comcast internet and cable were out, So we called and they said it was are modem.. So we went to go get a new modem. It is the exact same modem but when i try and hit the standbye button nothing happens.. I think its broke but i dunno. What do you guys think?

I live in Minnesota,Minneapolis!!
And I have Comcast!
But, my internet and cable are fine. BUT! It's my phone line that went out. And I called also , and they said it was my Modem...They said someone on Friday would come out and check.

Try called Comcast and ask them to take a look. I believe it's the storm.

rofl i got hit by a storm like 2 months ago, and my modem is always messed up now. comcast says its fine but internet/phone/cable shut off like every 2 hrs then dont com back on until 1 hr l8er its really gay

Do you modem tap? If so that may be the reason, it short circuits the wires in your modem and may cause wire around it to short circuit...Advice for modem tappers...Your modem will burn out soon so i suggest you stop modem tapping.
