[TUT] Bypassing Japan SF IP Ban

Ok, so peeps wanna know after all lol. Wiseass who posted a few posts ago is right -it is by using a Japanese CGI proxy server that makes it seem as if I'm in Japan - not a big deal and very easy to do. It did bump my ping up slightly, but I have yet to really evaluate if that will lag me much more or not. We'll have to wait until after the ban (9/3) to be 100% sure this will work then too, but I'm thinking it probably will.

Here is a proxy server website I found, and it has links to other proxy list sites at the bottom. SOmetime you have to try a few proxies before finding one that works.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

You want to search this and other pages for a "high-anonimity", "anonymous" or "elite" proxy that says it's in Japan. There are several of these proxy lists all over the web, and they are constantly updated because the proxies often go down or go away. This means you may use one proxy today and it may not work tomorrow - just try another one from a newer list.
Here's how to change your internet settings to use the proxy - these are all for XP IE7 or so. That’s the only version I’ve tried this on.

Make sure you only have one browser window open, then:
1.
On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options, click the Connections tab, and then click LAN Settings.
2.
**I am also having to check "Use automatic configuration script" and enter the IP address of the proxy (minus the port) in that field.**
Under Proxy server, click to select the Use a proxy server for your LAN check box.
3.
In the Address box, type the IP address of the proxy server. (all the numbers before the colon only)
4.
In the Port box, type the port number that is used by the proxy server for client connections (by default, 8080 but most of these proxies will say what port they use– this is the part of the number after the colon).
5.
Click OK to close the LAN Settings dialog box.
6.
Click OK again to close the Internet Options dialog box.

When you’re done playing, you’ll need to uncheck the “Use a proxy server for your LAN” check box to surf the web regularly. You’ll also need to unclick “Use automatic configuration script”.

This may not be the best way to do this, and I don’t know if it will work for everyone. However, here is what I see when I put on the proxy and go to google (lol),

so I think it is working for me. I’ll be happy to help anybody who can’t figure out this rough tutorial. I probably should have made a video or used screenshots but I’m lazy. Here is the proxy I am currently using. You can try it first if you want. 202.242.55.4:80. The first part is the proxy address (before the colon)
the last part (80) is the port. You don't use the colon for anything it just separates the two visually. Good luck!

**UPDATE**: I'm adding a newer website with a list of proxy sites. A LOT of these aren't working for me, but some should work. Happy hunting, i really hope this helps some people.

Re: [TUT] Bypassing Japan SF IP Ban

Yeah, I know this is long and seems like a pain in the ass, but to me it's worth it. A flamer on another forum laughed at me and said there was a much easier way to do this, so I'm currently in the process of finding out if he really does have an easier way or if he's just an *******. If there's an easier way, I will find out, and post it here. Thanks guys, good night.
