[Question] Change Ping

Hey!!
Me and my friend have a bet.
He says its impossible to change our ping in SF to make it lower.
Well I think using a proxy or change my ip, I could make it look like that im in California therefore i would have low ping.
Is this possible?

I dont rly know if it would make ur ping lower becus u still using the same computer at the saame place but if sf finds ur ping from ur proxy you might be able too.

how about.. tap into another person's ip in say.. california and use that?

Wouldn't work, your ping is based on you connection distance,and speed.
IT IS NOT based on your IP.

-That is why it goes up and down (you internet isn't always at the same speed.
-That is why when you start a download and play SF you will have 500 ping. (People don't do this, it is VERY ANNOYING)
-That is also why peopl LAGG. (if it was IP based, nobody would lagg if they had a decent computer)

Harwinder is correct. Ping is like a program the comp uses. It estimated how much time in milliseconds it takes to send these "info packets" to the server and back to your computer.

I suppose getting a faster internet or a faster comp might increase your ping a tiny bit. Or don't have programs running while playing SF

Anyway my ping ain't too bad 130-145.

But to play JSF they use a proxy to change ip, so wouldn't that make it look like ur in Japan?

well if u want to lag go to this forum click [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] now b4 u start playing sf by pressing play live disable the proxy then press play live for updates the log off and start the proxy after that load dex launcer then log in from dex launcer and there u go ur lagging over 300 ping press the thanx button if i help also u have to look for the dex launcer by ur self i am busy
