Basics of editing .sff
Ok I'll teach you guys how to edit .sff files
I'll make it simple as it is
Sample to edit: SRG character
you can find it on data/force
and the specific file is force_001
(1st)you need an Unpacker/Packer
~You can make a .bat file for it or use any available Unpacker/Packer
~Be sure that you got sff-parser.exe and cygwin1.dll
*credits to feartec without him it would be still imposible.
(2nd)You need a photo editor like Adobe Photoshop or GIMP
1~Make a Project Folder[to organize]
2~copy & paste the file force_001 [to the proj. folder]
3~(If you don't have a ready made unpacker/packer)
^copy & paste sff-parser.exe and the cygwin1.dll[to the proj. folder]
^make a batch file to become your unpacker/packer and put it to the proj. folder
*If you got an unpacker/packer you can skip [ 3 ]
4~Now Unpack force_001.sff to the same folder
5~Open force_001 and It'll look something like this
*as you can see you can edit other characters as well and the Target Texture and so as the weapon texture
just by unpacking the force_001
6~anyway lets start at the SRG folder
first edit the
*sf_c_srg_foots.jpg
*sf_c_srg_hand.jpg
*sf_c_srg_head.jpg
*sf_c_srg_leftarm.jpg
*sf_c_srg_rightarm.jpg
*sf_c_srg_upperbody.jpg
^you can open this file and edit using Photo editor or
just rename some of it.
[Example: sf_c_srg_head copy the name and
rename the sf_c_srg_camoface_worldcup with this one or make two copies, delete the sf_c_srg_head then rename the sf_c_srg_camoface_worldcup(2nd copy)
to sf_c_srg_head,Or just change both file names vice versa .]
7~Ok now after we finish editing the images we
will deal in deleting unedited files and deleting
it inside the dir_list too.
8~Now we're ready to pack
*Rename your .sff to your last .sff number
(sample last number force_029.sff make yours as force_030.sff)
*If you got an error it will make a temp1,temp2 and stackdump
be sure to delete those before you try to pack again.

If you still got error,try checking the dir_list and your files,
(that's why I recommend batch file to pack so you would know
where is your error cuz it pause's.)
If you don't get an error then we're done
Now check you edited force in game....
you can also do the steps in making or
edit Maps
edit Sounds
edit Weapons
and All the .sff files
FAQQ:I've unpack .sff file and when I edit it and I'll pack it nothing happens.
A:make sure the dir_list notepad is right or else it won't pack
[I recommend replacing the original image file / sound file.(must be the same format-jpeg for -jpeg/TGA for TGA]
Q:I copied the image of another version of SF for guns and paste it on
my project but when I packed and test it it looks awful.
A:Make sure you included the right .LMA or FXA for guns cuz
it stands as its bone structure.
