Guide to running ChickHEN R2 on your PSP-3000 / TA88v3/5.03 GEN-A Custom Firmware

Here’s a quick run down of what we’re doing to need to get [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]:

• A PSP-3000 or PSP-2000 with firmware 5.03 (This is imperative, you won’t get [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to ever load with out it!)
• The lastest [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] release.
• And a lot of patience

Firstly make sure your PSP-3000 or TA88v3 PSP-2000 has PSP Firmware 5.03 installed. Check in your PSP XMB go to Settings/ System Settings / System infomation. If you don’t have PSP 5.03 installed download it [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Create a folder called UPDATE in PSP/GAME on your memory stick and place the eboot from the archive into the folder. Run the 5.03 Firmware update from GAME / Memory stick and you will have 5.03. The firmware required to run [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
Now download the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] R2 release from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Open the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] R2 archive and place the folder inside Slim with gif images into your PSP memory stick location like so PSP/PHOTO (later it will be PSP/PHOTO/[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]). Now place the h.bin into the root of your memory stick pro duo. Where the folders PSP, MUSIC etc are located.
Ok next step place the memory stick into the PSP. We have found this step helps [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] boot with less attempts, go your PSP XMB, to settings and Restore Default Settings. Your PSP will reset, now go back into settings and turn off UMD Auto-Start and UMD Cache. We found [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] loads in 2-3 goes after doing this.
Now go into Photo / Memory Stick and [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. And wait, you will see five egg giff images, these will start to load thumbnails. Your PSP may freeze and reset. Just keep retrying and [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] R2 will load up….But if you see flashing colors, your PSP will reboot into [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] your homebrew ready!
With [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] R2 loaded now starts the fun part. (P.S You can put your PSP into standby now so you don’t have to go through the whole process again).


5.03 GEN-A Custom Firmware released! CFW on PSP-3000’s

PSPGEN have released Custom Firmware 5.03GEN-A for HEN!! What does this mean? Well its something many of us have been waiting for since the PSP-3000 was released. Full blown Custom Firmware is now possible on your PSP-3000 / PSP-2000 TA088v3. Thanks to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and PSPGen.com.

How to Install,
Pre installation: Make sure you have a PSP-3000 or PSP-2000 with [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] – You need this for ChickHEN R2 to work.

1. Download [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] by Davee & Team Typhoon
2. Download [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
3. Install ChickHEN and run/load ChickHEN R2
4. Follow these steps below

01. Connect your PSP to the computer in USB Mode when you have loaded ChickHEN R2.
02. Unzip 5.03GEN-A_for_HEN.zip on your desktop by example
03. double-click on LAUNCH-ME.exe (GUI)
04.PSP Model : choose options PSP-2000 or PSP-3000 (depends of your PSP)
05.Mode : Choose option FULL
06. PSP Install : Choose option YES
07. Push START.
08.the files are copied on your PSP.
09. Disconnect the PSP from USB.
10. Launch the main EBOOT.PBP / Loader using [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (only R2! NOT R1!).
11. When the app load, press L or R to flash the firmware in your flash. YOU ONLY NEED MAKE IT ONE TIME!
12. Press () to reboot in the custom firmware.

Finally a reason to buy a new psp? Will this allow me to run ISO games? Also do brand new psp have the correct firmware or is it too late?

the brand new psp dont work unless they have 5.03 FW on them make sure when you buy it it says that it has 5.03.

ISO/CSO loading is enabled so yes you can.

Hi all, I am going to try this and confused about the last step. what does it mean?

Can i shut down the PSP after all that?
