If it ever comes to custom maps I think warcraft 3 would do better but otherwise go SC2 :)

Starcraft. For some reason, I think it has a lot more maps, and different variety.

I always liked Starcraft better than Warcraft, not sure why. I do however like the custom map DOTA.

Both are good, depend on which one you get bored of first
Warcraft games tend to last longer, like melee and custom goes atleast 30mins if its a good game.
Starcraft are quick in customs but fun Defence and Bounds
dunnno about melee/ladders games since MapHacking is safe, i dont bother

I personally prefer starcraft.

Why?

Because starcraft has better gameplay and unit control,also theres a whole bunch of strats for it too.

Warcraft 3 is ok too. But game play needs to be better. All i like are the use map setting games and the campaign editor. Also love the ability to add models to a map too.
