StarCraft Hamachi Server

Hello and welcome everybody. Now, I've been seeing a lot of posts about not being able to connect to Battle.net, or even if you can, you lag when you're in a game. Sometimes, you even got a pirated version of StarCraft, and can't connect to Battle.net because someone else is already on. Well whatever the problem is, there is an alternative solution to playing StarCraft online. It's called Hamachi.

Well now, what is Hamachi? Well Hamachi is a private server that allows players from all over the world to connect and play together.

So, the first thing you're going to want to do is to go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Okay, now I will list the steps 1 by 1, so it will be easy to understand, even though I don't have screen shots (sorry).

1. Click the scroll down button on the search tab at the top right, and scroll down until you see Hamachi (its in alphabetical order)

2. Download version 1.0.1.1 (I chose this version because it has very little problems) Now, I'm pretty sure you guys all know how to download stuff... so download hamachi until you get to the screen with a small dark grey window.

3. Ok, now press the power on button. (it is on the bottom left of the window, and looks like a power on sign...)

4. After you connected, click the Create or Join existing hamachi net work. (it is on the bottom RIGHT corner that is shaped like a triangle)

5. Join my network.
Network Name: DeathGiver's public network
Network Password: pie
Remember, capitalization counts... so be sure to capitalize my name :D

6. Now, wait for other players to get on (the dot next to their name will turn either green or blue)

7. When you see somebody on, right click their name and press Chat, this will enable you to type messages to him. If you 2 agree to play, get on StarCraft multiplayer, but instead of connecting to Battle.net, connect to Local Area Network (UDP)

8. Have fun playing.

Note: If you to do not see eachother's game, contact me, and I'll try to help you out.

Remember, this is a STARCRAFT ONLY net work. If you want to play warcraft, go make a different net work.

If you have any problems, write a response, ill try to answer it.

~ EDIT ~

Lol, I never expected the server to fill up so fast, so I will be creating a second server, and if needed, 3rd or 4th.

The server name will be.

DeathGiver's public network 2
DeathGiver's public network 3

and so on. The password will be the same... pie

And if your a user in network 2 or 3, and nobody is on, talk to me, (I'll usually be on) and I'll see if anybody is on any of the other servers, and create a private server for you 2.

Oh, and yes, I will be monitoring the server, and if i see that your not really on often (at least once a week) I'm afraid I'm going have to kick you.

Re: StarCraft Hamachi Server

yeah, there are a few problems with hamachi, and stuff about not seeing other people games, but let me ask you a few questions.

1. Do you both have the same version? 1.0.1.1?
2. When you both start up hamachi, does your friend have a green or blue dot next to their name? Remeber, it has to be SOLID, if its blinking, its still trying to make connection.
3. Can you ping eachother?

Well if your answer is yes for all of them, let me host a game, and see if you can join my game. Sometimes, some people can't see other people's games, so you need a middle man there.

Smile Re: StarCraft Hamachi Server

1. Yeah we both have v1.0.1.1
2. When we look at each other's names, it's a blue star.
3. I can ping him, but it's average of 400+. =/

P.S - What does the blue star mean? It's not a dot, just a blue star.

Also, maybe it's because i have a private IP? 192.168.0.XXX.

I read some site about IPs and all my friends can connect to each other and they also see a green star when they look at each other in Hamachi, it's just me that has a blue star.

Thanks.

Re: StarCraft Hamachi Server

Lol blue dot/star just means if you have premium or not. However a blue arrow is bad. A blue arrow symbolizes that you can still play with eachother, but the game will be really laggy. A blue arrow basically means that your connection is being relayed by a middle man.
