Adopt-a-Noob

I think since this is a hacking forum, and just about 98% of the population here are leechers. I think we should have an "Adopt-a-Noob" service, where the newbies that actually want to learn about the internet and everything in it, can sign up for what they want to learn, than a senior member/staff member/Administrator?, can "adopt" that noob, and teach him enough skills, know-how to get them started and learn it out themselves, so they can stop being the rotten leecher they are, and actually contribute to the community. This would be a great idea since it would kill off a percentage of the leechers, and make them ok-hackers/programmers/w.e they're trying to learn. This way, the economy will be more stable, and there will be more variety of hacks/programs/mods out in public once these trainees are skilled enough to make their own programs. I remember some of the old staff, maby admins, not sure, telling me the hacks were for LEARNING purposes, so why not go a whole other level, and start taking educating the community into better hands. Also, if this goes well, we will have more hackers/programmers/whatever to help other trainees, and the pyramid goes on. Once we have more elite people, the forum will also become more popular in time, and more people will come.. and more people will give donations...more people in underground sections...more premiums...and you know what this means skyline..MORE MONEY(Lol Jk..insider's joke if you don't know what I'm talking about)!!

So to conclude this, there should be a new section in the forums where people can apply/help. The sign up sheet can look something like this:

RL name:

AIM/MSN/ICQ/channel on the IRC/whatever they can use to communicate:

What you would like to learn/ What you can teach:

Goal you would like to achieve ( like what you would like to do with what you learn, so the instructor can help you better):

About Me: ex: I like learning new things, so i will be a great student because i keep the knowledge i learn and just just dump it out of my head after a day.
ex2: I am a great tutor, because i have a lot of patience with people

ETC. The list can go on.

Re: Adopt-a-Noob

Thats a very good idea. Maybe users with like 500+ Posts should only be able to. Still, a very good Idea. Or with the posts, make it so that they look like they are professional, like you and me. Skyline, Lalalakid, All the Mods' and Admins, ect.. I think thats worth a rep!

well 500+ post isn't really enough. I think the tutor should prove able, not just post count, that they can help. They need to know what they're doing, and not blind leading the blind.

this idea has been out for a long time. It WILL work, if we give it a chance, but apparently, hardly anyone is willing to give it a go yet, but if they do choose to try this out on gzp, I'll guarantee I'll do my best to make it work.

Re: Adopt-a-Noob

This is a rather silly idea for numerous reasons. However, first and foremost this will simply not work, as most of the people cheating in games don't have the patience to play normally let alone spend time learning a programming language or delve into the realm of reverse engineering.

In my experience, individuals that attempt to learn how to program for the sole reason of developing cheats, rather than for the enjoyment of learning about the field of computer science, skip a lot of the fundamentals and end up writing very poor code.

In short, although it might sound nice on the surface, in actuality this idea is a recipe for a disaster. If people would like to learn the art of programming, they should pick up a text book or enroll in a programming course. Asking for programming lessons from a group of potentially inexperienced programmers on a game cheating forum is not the right way to begin programming.

Re: Adopt-a-Noob

I agree with the above post, it'll be a gilded sucess, considering if they are already "leechers" their the type of people that don't really care for computer science

These class might not be available for some as they might be for you. Also, real help is much better than picking up a text book and reading all these crap you don't understand since you're just beginning. Lets face it, alot of people here probably don't even know what visual basics, C++ , or whatever is, or let alone know where to start learning. Sure books have a lot of information, but it's better if you have some live support and help beforehand, it makes understanding and learning a whole lot easier. Lets face it, what's the point in the government paying for a tutor if they can just hand everyone a text book and tell them to get reading? IT HELPS thats why.

You don't need to go out of your way to make a bot or anything. Deciding who is capable of helping can be discussed by the admins or whoever they think should decide. Proving can simply mean that you have the know how, and you've been helping others, and we can see that you are able, you don't necessarily have to make something to be proven able.

Re: Adopt-a-Noob

Yeah, this would be a good idea if the large majority of people were interested in programming in general, but most are like nForce said, "Learning solely to make cheats." So, the only thing we can do about this is to, make some sort of elimination program before they get adopted? HMM? what about that.
