Re: [Market Suggestion]Ip Bans for scammers.

I would be careful with your undermining attitude, neoaaron, if you want to be taken seriously.

Vash has stated that he tends to skip the threads, which is perfectly fine by me since investigating legitimate scams is, for the most part, a complete and utter waste of time. Whilst you may beg to differ, you don't run GamerzPlanet nor have you seen the amount of post reports that are dealt with on a daily basis. The number of accused scammers are ridiculous; people don't even do their own research for themselves before they actually post a scam report.

ts just a suggestion and i know allot of you are to hard-headed to listen and then do something.
I understand completely where you're coming from. On the contrary, you seem to be a little "to[sic] hard-headed" to listen to what I'm trying to say.

As far as warning people that they're going to be IP banned goes, do you really think anyone (that is, the people that do scam and read rules) will be deterred by such a threat?

Well i guess you didn't understand what i was.
I brought that up because he said GzP is a scamming website and was saying if it was then why wouldn't lumri (not sure if thats how you spell it,sorry)Allow Pincrackers,He doesn't,There against the rules because its FOR scamming therefore scamming is not aloud on gamerzplanet,by stating this proving him wrong, yes a tad bit off topic but still on the same path.I'm just saying you really should try to protect your members but its up to r2 and skyline.
And yeah its there fault for being dumb but still..

Yes i really do... I don't get why you don't..Its a threat,i said it a few times now..You don't have to do it and if it doesn't work whats wrong with that.its not like doing something it going to damage the forum...All its going to do is help fight against scammers, like i just said even if it doesn't,atleast you tried.

Re: [Market Suggestion]Ip Bans for scammers.

There is a giant difference between Brute Forcing someone's account and talking them out of their own password. It's like the difference between "hacking" and "cracking", which has merged into the same thing nowadays, but I digress...

But r2k is correct, what I say only goes for how I function. I put my feeling on the subject out there quite often in so called 'scamming' threads. But what he said about these 'scammers' is also true. If someone comes onto the forum for the sole purpose of scamming someone, issuing an empty threat to them isn't going to stop them. If we IP ban them, they'll jump on a proxy and be back the next day. It's a business to them, one that is rather hard to stop.

You want to stop scamming? Educate the kids on this forum. Teach them how to spot a scammer. Teach them to use a trusted MM, one that can prove who he is.

I've added the announcement. Now, you can feel free to monitor the scamming rates - which you're naive to believe will drop at all.

Re: [Market Suggestion]Ip Bans for scammers.

I agree with what r2k is saying. All I have to add is when it comes to reports of scams, I take them very seriously. 90% of them are a waste of time, but I still take the time to filter through it. I get a ton of PMs daily about scam reports and issues. On top of that, I have the post reports. Add that all up and you can see how busy I am. Some issues take some time to fully get to the bottom of. Granted a announcement may help a bit in controlling it, but not really. Its hard enough for people to read a sticky let alone an announcement.

All in all, if you find someone that is a 'frequent scammer' and you feel it has not been resolved yet, feel free to send me a PM and I will look into it.
