Receiving points for Correctly reporting a thread.

I think we should receive points for correctly reporting a thread/post. Why? Because most people just post wrong section/begging/spamming/etc. Not everyone reports. So for the people who actually report the thread should get like 10-50 points per report.

Well, if you report a post, a new thread gets created in the Reported Posts sections (that only mods can see)

So i assume you get normal points for reporting stuff already

You don't I reported a lot of threads and got no points. That section is just to show them where to go its not a new thread.

I definately don't, cause then everytime a thread has some minuiscule, barely noticable, and beside-the-point infraction, there will be hundred and hundreds of people trying to get points by reporting, and that user might or might not be banned for a very riddiculous reason... for example, someone asks for some good sites and you list a few, you respond with some sites, and 20 people report you/them for advertising.

I don't mean for just pressing the report button. The reporting has to be for a legit reason. After they action is taken you will receive points if you reported sucessfully.

well we have mods for every section... they know what to do about that...

I think it's a good idea. The feasibility of it, on the other hand, is a little different - I'm unsure if there's an vBPlaza extension that'll actually do this and I don't want moderators wasting time donating points. To come to a middle-point, perhaps a mass-point give away for the best 'reporter' per month, sort of like a competition.

Couldn't agree more. I haven't seen that Mod around, doubting there's such a Mod someone created. It could be requested - in some forums, or could be Custom-Made to suit our needs.
