There are two ways of deleting a post in vBulletin.
- Marking it as deleted so only mods can still see it, with the note that the post is deleted.
- Physically removeing it - if you're lucky, you can find it back in google's cache but nowhere on this forum.
What I think that would make sense is, having an user able to mark his thread as deleted for like 30 minutes, and only if nobody replied.
This would i.e. allow removing self-solved questions.

That would only apply for extremely rare situations...
Re: Users have the ability to delete their own posts.
I'd rather not have users who can delete their own post. Think before you post and it won't be needed. I usually don't infract people if they edit and mention in their post they noticed they made a mistake or something along those lines
Re: Users have the ability to delete their own posts.
It can be bad and good, the good thing is, people may have made a mistake, the other thing is, in the black market, people may scam, and edit/delete the posts. Although mods/admins can still read it, by the time, the person will be already scammed.
I support, this but I wouldn't make this for every section a user can delete their post, maybe in some certain sections.

So then, perhaps the ability to do this should be a privilege, possibly require a very high post count, make it something to buy in the plaza, or maybe just something to add to premium membership.
Heck, you could even make it to where people have to ask and if a staff thinks they deserve it then they can grant it.
I however, still like this idea.

Re: Users have the ability to delete their own posts.
thats a good idea XD. BUT if delete posts gets suggested theres one problem.
People will post then delete their post and say *moved* and post again and again. thats the problem XD.
good idea though :) but i think mods should BE the one to delete posts and threads not US so we can control spamming XD.
