I am suggesting a new rule about lurkers. As of today, I've been seeing alot of lurkers posting fake hacks or advertising links. I would like to change that members who want to upload hacks or give out links to be a registered member with at least 15+ posts. There are many people i know that had viruses from these lurkers. They don't post working hacks and always advertise links from other forums. These lurkers should be IP Banned.
How does GzP know if the post is going to have files attached to it? I guess the rule can be changed to:
A user of GzP must have 15+ posts to be able to attach files to their posts.
That would be a better restatement of that suggestion.

but most of the time they upload to MegaUpload, MediaFire, RapidShare, etc..
Originally I was expecting something silly but having read that it's quite a good suggestion. There's no real great reason someone would need to post a link before they've posted a couple times.
15 posts might be a bit too many though if someone just wants to release something.

Problem is though, this might encourage spamming. If someone wants to post a referral link, as many people do, they spam until they have 15+ posts and then post it.
Scanning doesn't always work, and as the person above me beat me to saying, it would increase spam rates. While in theory it would work, in the end it would result in more spam.

Getting 15+ post shouldn't be a problem for these lurkers. They will spam anywhere about anything. So it will cause more spam. Maybe If there was a time limit with post count it would work...like say they have to have joined 5 months back or something like that before they can attach or even create threads in the Games section.

Hmm, I sort of like that idea. Not 5 months, but like 1 month. They can't create threads in download sections until they have been a user for 1 month. And, it could be implemented fairly easily with group promotions.

Umm... for ip bann its not that simple, because there is a program that can hide your ip instead of changing it, it puts a fake ip in front of it, so it seems like the real ip but really its not....... and the ip hiding program usually give multiple ip's. Its kinda like a proxie i guess....
