That's why you need to find out the brand. Look for any logos or writing on it or the cord, ask your dad if he knows the brand. If you can't find out what it is that way, take a picture and see if anyone knows it.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that's a GE Webcam.

That, "Plugging into Vista machine" method could work actually. When you try that, come back with some results.
