I can verify this, I tested with an animated image and it worked fine. I have the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] permission, didn't need anything extra.

is there an option where I can upload a slightly larger avatar?

i know it's too big, Im not planning to upload this original but I can make it a bit smaller but slightly larger than my current.

Did you buy the permission from the vbPlaza? It allows users to use avatars of all sizes so I'm not sure why you would be unable to use that if you did.
