retyping cdkey

is there any way to change the cdkey without reinstalling? i think i lost the cds =P i remember for cs you could use "regedit" and hcange it but i heard that doesn't work anymore. anyone know a way?

there are CD-key changers out there that change the file in regedit. i'll google it in a bit and see what i can find.
