Re: Problem with WC3 and TFT

this is what happenes when your monitor can handle the resolution, refresh-rate, or drivers that warcraft uses.

There are a few things we can try. One, you can try to boot in different video modes (which i will explain how do do at the end of the post <scroll down>). you can also try to change the refresh rate of your monitor to something like 60 - 75 (it will probably be this if it is an older monitor.

Just to make sure, does your computer remain powered on when the screen goes black? if so your computer is probably over heating.

Now.. for the other video settings...

First, be sure you have patched the game to the latest version. You can get the patch by connecting to Battle.net or by downloading a stand-alone patch from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

Once the game is patched, you can right click on the Warcraft III shortcut on your desktop and choose Properties. In the target box after the last quotation, press the space bar once and type in the command lines below:

OpenGL Video Mode:
Your target line should look something like "C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Warcraft III.exe" -opengl

Software Transform and Lighting Video Mode:
Your target line should look something like "C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Warcraft III.exe" -swtnl

try both settings to see if one helps.
