| Registered User | Well if you wanted to play LAN then you would need open ports (If you're not using Hamachi). To open ports you need to: 1) Go into warcraft and click Options>Gameplay Then check what port is in the box near the bottom left (Usually the number is 6110-6120) 2) Alt-Tab or exit Warcraft and go Start>Control Panel>Networks or Internet connections>Windows Firewall. 3) You can either turn off the firewall (NOT RECOMMENDED!) or you can manually make the port excepted by the firewall. 4) To manually except the port go to the Exceptions tab (In the windows firewall box). 5) Then click add port (near the bottom of the box). 6)It will ask you for a Name and Port Number. 7) Just name it "Port", and type in the number you saw when you went to Options>Gameplay in Warcraft 3 earlier into the Port Number box. 8) Then click OK, don't worry about the TCP/UDP thing... Warcraft 3 is TCP 9) Find "Port" in the list of exceptions and tick it, if it isn't already ticked. 10) Then you can host a game in LAN Warcraft, but the person you want to play LAN with has to have the same version of Warcraft and same game (eg. Warcraft 3 Reign of Chaos and Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne, If you tried to play LAN between the two it wouldn't work even if you had the same ports set up between you two. - Restart Warcraft 3 if you left it on in this whole process. 11) AND to play LAN warcraft you need to be in the same network as your friend. 12) Also, add Warcraft 3 to the exceptions list, to add Warcraft 3 to the exceptions list you need to: 13) Go Start>Control Panel>Networks or Internet connections>Windows Firewall. 14) Click on Exceptions tab. 15) Click Add Program. 16) Then find Warcraft 3 in the list. - If it's not there then click Browse and find it by going into C: Drive. Add a thanks if this help you :P Last edited by Travy92; 08-03-2007 at 03:49 PM.. |
