Reign of Chaos vs The Frozen Throne

Hi, I am new to the game, about 2weeks, and play the game at a local gaming store with few friends who have played the game for much longer than me. We only play Reign of Chaos and they refuse to play The Frozen Throne. I asked for an explanation and he says that Frozen Throne made the game a lot cheaper and less skill to play with some new overpowered heroes/units added to Frozen Throne.

I was wondering if anyone has any input they wouldn't mind posting comparing both the games which game you like over the other and why(balance issues, changes, strategies, pros/cons, and etc.) because I am pretty interested in playing wondering if it is worth trying to convince to switch to Frozen Throne.

I think its better, and if you are playing on lan servers like Garena where you can only play on Frozen throne, its better to play it.

its been ages since ive played RoC the last time ive played it was the first dota ever make on WC3.. then now TFT, theres not much of a difference between the two only that TFT is much popular than RoC nowdays, World Cyber Games even host it every year. my suggestion if you want to play WC3 finish the campaign in RoC first then stick with TFT

Well there isn't much of a difference just new heroes and items and some units.
If you play RTS (real time strategy) then you gotta play on strategy unless you dont kno how to. Plus ur friends are small minded how is it less skilled to play when u play RoC? Its same thing just items and heroes and units. BUT if you play DotA/Custom games then its a whole different story..
