| Registered User | WC3 No CD Easy A few days ago I found a way to play WC3 without the disk or a no cd patch. It's very VERY simple. You need 2 things : 1) Daemon Tools --> www(dot)daemon-tools.cc 2) Alchohol 120% --> www(dot)alcohol-soft(dot)com Install those and get it all setup. Now if you know how to get into the registry edit, go do that now but if not, here's how. Start > Run > regedit A window should pop up and it will have on the left 5 folders. You only need to go into HKEY_CURRENT_USER. Now, once you are in there, go to software, then you will should see one called Blizzard Entertainment. Open that up and you will see your Blizzard games. Open it up and click on Warcraft III once. You will see on the right a bunch of registry stuff (see screeenshot wc3reg.zip). On that picture, you see War3CD and War3XCD with a value on the right of it. Double-click on War3CD and change E:\ to F:\ . Do the same for War3XCD. After that is complete, close Registry Editor. Now if you have already installed Alcohol 120%, open it up. Now once you're in Alcohol, go on the left and you will see Image Making Wizard. Click on that. Put your Warcraft III CD in your drive and once Alcohol has seen that a disk is in the drive, you can hit next and it will go to another screen (see alcohol.zip). There isn't much you can really do on that window, so just hit Start. After that is done with that cd, do it with the Frozen Throne if you want. Now personally, I would have to say this is the easiest part. Open DaemonTools and once it is fully loaded, go to your taskbar and you should see it. Right-click on it then go to Virtual CD/DVD-ROM, then go to select number of drives. You really only need one so if it isn't already on one, put it there. After that is done, left-click on DaemonTools once and click on the F:\ Drive. Then go find the Warcraft III Image, and mount it. That's all! It does take awhile to do all of that, but it's alot easier that it sounds. You can do this with many games that require a disk. (i.e. Diablo 2, Final Fantasy 7, Starcraft) If that does not work, post here saying what happend. *Note* This is mainly used if you don't want to worry about losing disks and if they get scratched. If you don't have the disk for that game, download it off of www(dot)torrentspy(dot)com Last edited by MercenaryX2; 08-13-2006 at 12:05 PM.. |

| Registered User | Re: WC3 No CD Easy Thanks for posting a method of how to do this, but there are already several threads with much simpler ways of mounting a smaller image to the drive (see the sticked threads). Also, any of the higher versions of wc3 that is 1.12 or higher, you will need to create the disk image with securerom 5.x encoding in order for it to be mountable. |

| Registered User | Re: WC3 No CD Easy Securerom is there already. And besides, that's not only for mounting images, its also for editing registry so that you don't have to use a CD. I guess you didn't read that part. |

| Boa Fanboy :D | Re: WC3 No CD Easy this takes too much time though.. i'd rather use this procedure : 1.download and install daemon tools 2. download the mini image of warcraft from this site 3. play
