| Registered User | Re: Can anyone teach me how to host under a wireless adapter? Many of you have [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and are depressed because you can't host. Even if you turn off your firewall, it STILL won't allow you to host. Well loook no more! Here i will teach you how to host with a router. First EACH [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] that's going to host WC3 games must be configured, in the WC3 Network setup on that computer, to use a DIFFERENT port. Set The first computer is set to use 6112 Set The second computer is set to use 6113 Set The third computer is set to use 6114 and so on, up to 6119. To change the port, open warcraft 3 and click option. Click gameplay and then you will see 6112. If you have more than one computer where you wanna host, you have to make this digit differet. Then in the router, port 6112 is forwarded to the Static IP address assigned to Computer #1. Port 6113 is forwarded to the Static IP address assigned to Computer #2. Port 6114 is forwarded to the Static IP address assigned to Computer #3. And so on. I. You first have to find your default gateway for your router in order to change the modifications on it to allow you to host. In order to do this, click Start -->Run --> type in the text box "cmd" (without quotations). --> a Black BOX should appear. In there, type "ipconfig". --> A whole bunch of text should pop up inside the black screen. Search through it and find Default gateway. (it should be next to a bunch of numbers) Write those numbers down. --> open microsoft explorer and inside the text box type the number of your default gateway. -->Setting Up the Port Forwarding Once you are In your routers setup page It will ask you to login. The default password / username will be admin. After Loging in you should see a few Rows of Options. (near the top of the page) You want to Click On the Advanced -> [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Option (Thats for if you ahve a Dlink / 3com router) | Advanced -> Fowarding (If you have a Linksys router). In the Service Port Box (Dlink / 3com) | External Port (Linksys) you need to enter in the port that the host program is going to use. If there are 2 boxes set up next to each other and are labeled Public Ports or Inbound Port or somthing of that nature type the port(s) you are going to use in the boxes. The lower port goes on the left side the higher port goes on the right. If you want your computer #1 to host (you set this one to 6112) then type 6112 in both boxes. If you know your Private IP at this point add it in otherwise leave that box alone for now, but dont not close this page and or apply the changes yet. If you don't know your ip, to find it, go to Run-->cmd-->ipconfig and look for your IP. type in the last group of numbers in the box. Save the changes and turn off your [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]YOU ARE NOW READY TO HOST GAMES ON WARCRAFT 3!! HAVE FUN!! I made this guide and put it in my clan forums for them to learn. Now i decided to put it on here. If this is 2 confusing the PM me and i will help u with ur computer. If it does work for you, please give me thanks Last edited by gamerzaddict132; 08-16-2006 at 09:18 PM.. |
