| Registered User | Weird Problem Installing Frozen Throne I've tried installing Frozen Throne on my new laptop (MacBook, running Mac OS X 10.4). Reign of Chaos works fine, but Frozen Throne is different. Whenever I try to install it, it goes most of the way and then freezes at the last bits of the file War3xLocal.mpq and gives me the following error: Installation Failed. Archive not found for //files100 War3xLocal.mpq I tried it 3 times under different circumstances. I tried Installing them all at once using the Frozen Throne disc, and at different times. Also I tried installing in a different directory. If anyone knows whats going on, please help! |

| Registered User | Re: Weird Problem Installing Frozen Throne It sounds like your disk has some sort of blimish/scratch on the surface. I've had to buy a new disk because of the years of torment my old one went threw. |

| Moderator ![]() | Re: Weird Problem Installing Frozen Throne that may be a fact. BUT: discs can be broken even if theres no scratch. so maybe you gotta check if it works on other PCs. If it foes then its something on ur MacBook thingy... if it dont work on other PCs you probably need to make a copy of the disc (VERY low chance that this will work) otherwise buy a new one. theyre very cheap. |

| Boa Fanboy :D | Re: Weird Problem Installing Frozen Throne ^ he already said it woks on other comps and even other macs i reckon it's your drive :( since you bought the game i think it's ok if you DL it thru torrents then just use the key that you have and use your CD for the cd-check and just use the DLed game for the installaion

| Registered User | Re: Weird Problem Installing Frozen Throne The Frozen Throne disc I've used is my friend's, and he has a PC if that's a problem. I lent mine to someone for 10 minutes to install it on his computer and he LOST IT. I have three questions: 1. If you're installing with a normal RoC CD-key and a Battlechest TFT CD-key does it make a difference? 2. Since I've been using no-cd patches but TECHNICALLY own a copy. Is it considered a backup and therefore legal or is is illegal since I don't have the disc in my immediate possession? 3. Are Warcraft 3 discs used in a PC first formatted for a PC and therefore not usable on Macs anymore? |
