how to host on 2 computers?

how to host on 2 computers?

my problem is that i have 2 computers. one can host games and one can not. they both are connected to one router and a cable modem. how can i get them both to be able to host?

You are using cable modem, so you have to port forward port 6112 to your 2 computers IP address

i went to portforward.com and searched for my cabel modems model which is a motorola SB5120 surfboard cabel modem but i cant find it on the list. i enter my ip address in my browsers address bar and did everything portforward.com's tuts told me to do and i only see one area to put one ip address and one host name. here is a pic to show what i mean

Your not supposed to search for your cable modem but your router. Search for it in portforward.com and follow the instructions except repeat it and forward it to the ip of the 2nd computer. The computers MUST have static ip's or it wont work! And if you dont find your router like mine(Compex NetPassage 27G) pull out your router manual and read up port forward. btw from your screenshot i would say(correct me if im wrong) your router is a Linksys. =)

EDIT : from you screenshot try clicking Applications&Gaming then there should be a tab called Port Range Forwarding you should see a list.

Port Range
Application Start to End Protocol IP Address Enable
(anything) 6112 to 6112 Both (PC 1 IP) (tick)
(anything) 6112 to 6112 Both (PC 2 IP) (tick)


then save settings then your done!

okay this is what i was really looking for. and yes it is a linksys lol thx mods you can close/delete this thread now
