| Registered User | Re: Some 1 Help Why Cant I Host Costume Games? It's either an overzealous firewall (unlikely) or a router problem. If you have a router (a modem that you can connect more then one computer to) you need to set up a port forward for the ports warcraft needs. Google portfoward and look up your router model and warcraft 3 for instructions. |

| Registered User | Re: Some 1 Help Why Cant I Host Costume Games? Warcraft's default port would be 6112, just wondering if you have a router (if so port forward if it have a firewall) otherwise its windows firewall or your own firewall ![]() |

| Lurker | Re: Some 1 Help Why Cant I Host Costume Games? Warcraft III requires you to open the ports 6110-6119, but the most common one, and the usual one is 6112. Problems that might affect your ability to host: 1)Windows Firewall (Easily disabled) 2)Software firewall (refer to website of firewall manufacturer on instructions on how to open ports) 3)Hardware firewall (Refer to manual) 4)Router (portforward.com (goddamn 15 post url limit) they have precise instructions there, you just have to select the router model and the program you want) Could you tell us if you have any router, firewall or other peripherals installed that affects your network traffic? That would help us to solve your problem. |

| Lurker | Re: Some 1 Help Why Cant I Host Costume Games? or you can use the torrent method to open ports -------------------STEP 1--------------------- Finding out which port your router forwards. An easy way to find out which port you can use is to download a bittorent program such as azureus or bitcomet and use the same port they are using (make sure it works) You click here to test the port -> h**p://ww*.utorrent.c0m/testport.php?port=14844 (make sure when you do the test your torrent software is on but try stopping/pausing all downloads/uploads) The address above at the end where it says ''port=14844'' the numbers indicates the port being checked so change the numbers to the port you want to check. If the site comes up with a green OK then you may use that port for warcraft to host games online. NOTE - The port checked above (14844) is a standard port most Australian routers are auto configured to allow forwarding to so it should work. READ NEXT PARAGRAPH ONLY IF YOU ''DID NOT'' RECEIVE A GREEN OK FROM THE ABOVE LINK If the port is NOT available it should give you a red ERROR if this does occur go to the address above and change the last part from ''port=14844'' to a random port such as ''port=14241'' etc. until you get a green OK. (An easier way to find out which port you can use is to download a bittorent program such as azureus or bitcomet and use the same port they are using) -----------------------------STEP 2 (final)----------------------------------- Open your TFT/ROC Go to options>game options Where it says port: ''6112'' change that to the port the link above gave a green OK to. MAKE SURE BEFORE YOU DO ENTER BORED AUSSIE OR BNET THAT uTORRENT IS ON (*nothing should be downloading* *utorrent keeps the port open for you to host games*) That’s it! Now you should be able to host without even touching your router ^-^ -----------------------------------------------CutDownVersion---------------- - get your bittorent programs port - type that in warcraft>options isntead of using the default ''6112'' - leave uTorrent running in the background - done --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ps: srry about url thing cant post url until 15 posts Credits go to Moonsfang |
