| Registered User | I have been playing wc3 for about 3 years. Ive always wanted to host custom games because most games i play aren't usually found. So i searched the net and found how to host games. The main reason for u being unable to create games and peoples joining or arranging a team is because ur behind a firewall. you might be suprised to find out that you have more firewalls than you thought u originally had. 1) Windows firewall is a very common one and you need to either stop it or configure it to make it allow port 6112 to go through. You can find ur windows firewall by going into ur control panel and then to security centre. THen into windows firewall. You should see an exceptions tab. firstly u should see a list. scroll down the list and look for warcraft 3 frozenthrone or just warcraft 3. if its there. it means u allowed it when u first went into the game. Now u have to go to the "add port..." in the name part you can just type something like warcraft 3 and then in the port u have to type 6112 and have it tcp. ok now click ok....and yeah. 2) you can now restart your computer and try to host a game. If it still doesn't work. it must mean your router has a nat a natural firewall that is made for most router brands. to get past this problem : you'll have to go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] When you get there go to port forwarding. At the bottom ull see a list of routers. find the model and brand of ur router and click on the link. Below u should see a large list of programs and games. go to W and find warcraft 3 click on that link. now ull see a guide. READ IT throughly if u want to really want to now how to forward ur port without messing up ur computer!!! I STRESS THIS POINT!!!! 3) When you've dont that. restart ur computer and try hosting a game. You should be able to host a game. If u cant host a game. u must have something like norton anti-virus. just go into it and look for something like exceptions and do the same thing as u did in the windows firewall. 4) people that want to portforward but can not find their modem in the list. 4 ways to fix the problem Buy a brand new modem that is listed Ask or email your modem company for help on portforwarding go to 10.1.1.1 or 10.1.1.2 and then username =admin and password =admin go in and look aroudn for an advanced tab or just keep on searching for something to do with portforwarding or opening ports. Look at the list for other modems that are not the specific model number of your modem and check on them. Eg i ahve a dsl 502t and there is only a dsl 502, click on dsl 502. I hope this gets stickied so theres no more "i can host HELP ME PLEASE" THank me if this helped or solved ur problem. dont pm me if u go into trouble becuase im nearly out of space. just post on this thread and im sure others will also help you out. HAVE FUN HOSTING~! ![]() Last edited by donny_v1; 06-02-2007 at 03:46 PM.. |

Good post! I already knew how to forward ports but it's good for the other people. ;P The ONLY thing that really annoys me is the use of "ur" instead of "your". Can you... Kind of correct it...? Not all people know what these shortened words means. (Just a suggestion.). | |

| Registered User | Re: [Guide] Hosting Warcraft 3 Games Anyone with 1/4 a brain can figure out how to forward a port... Still, this guide should help the high noob population on this site. Cheating sites always attract noobs. |
