Vista + Warcraft III

I installed Vista Ultimate in my pc and installed Warcraft III ROC and TFT + 1.20e patch... However, I wasn't able to play the games. It asking for directx. I installed directx but still I can't play Warcraft. It's still asking for directx.

Other say they can play warcraft on their vista system. Some say they can't hear any sound even after installing audio drivers.

Is there any work around to play warcraft in vista?

BTW, I am using the Mini Image + alcohol as my virtual drive. Later I will try Daemon tools to know if the problem was caused by my virtual drive.

Hm...interesting.

The basic problem is that the system might not support this game, whats bad, even if u try mini images or no-cd cracks it probably wont work.

The solution? at this moment, Blizzard could launch an update to make the game working on Vista...or Microsoft should launch a package of updates that would make so many games work on their new system.

If I know more about or how to make it work, I´ll post here.

this is just a simple work around to make warcarft work in vista...

set the compatibility to win 98/me...

Worked first time for me on RC1, try compatibility to98/ME as above, or install an older version of direct x.

I've had problems with quite a few games on vista, especially with computers using older cards like Nvidia 5 and 6 series cards. The only thing i can suggest is to try and update your video card drivers and wait for vista sp2.
