My WR Skins Contribution

The first link is in Winrar format, the second is in Winzip format. You can check for viruses but there are none. This is my contribution so that I don't get deleted.

Characters are color coded upper and lower body by type, no team recognition as its only a simple .dds edit. Makes it alot easier to see snipers hiding against rocks though since this makes them bright blue. Medics are Pink.. and well.. get the file and find out. Info for placement is in each file, original files are included. Hope this is enjoyed as much as I have loved it.

Unless the original files had viruses from the update, like I said there should be no infection. My pc is clean as of a check today- 3/9/07 -and I did the entire edit in 5 minutes.Do what you want, thanks, kudos.. whatever.

I tried this out once on the .dds files but for some reason it didnt work. I havent tried yours but I was wondering whether you could change all the textures of the walls/floors/.... and make them semi transparent?

Why would I want to be doing that? What possible advantage could seeing through walls give someone?

Well, I will check into it and see what I can do. You want the textures to be flat color, and be semi-transp. right?

did you unzip them correctly?

For the skin change, you need to put "Textures" into programfiles\ War Rock and let it overwrite everything. To change back, just go INTO the program files\ War Rock\ Textures folder and paste the Red_01 in there. You do not have to unzip both files into your folder.

Im not sure about flat color but I wouldnt want the walls fully transparent or else you would just try to run through the walls you dont see.
I was thinking just a faint trace enough to still be able to nagviate around.
But it doesnt matter to me right now cuz my comps messed up and im stuck in safe mode.

Yeah I know how to edit Direct Draw Surfaces (.dds) files, but I am not totally sure if they go transparent. Contact me here if you'd like some =)

Although....I am not a fan of being banned, however undetected this may go. I almost got banned today for doing that "in emblem, under Montana name switch trick" for fun.

Plus, I already do very well, I got recruited into a clan on the first day. This might make me worse at war rock D: Ill still do it for u guys if you wish.

Transparence and color blocking isn't detectable to my knowledge, unless you are a medic taking out snipers because they are blue. For the transparence, you would only need to wait until they step out, but it would become slightly obvious after you get them everytime they step out before they can even see you.

I am still working on transparence, and the best thing I can think of is to copy the image into a new file with a transparent background and then cut back on the opacity a little.

As of today, these don't work anymore. I am working on new ones but punkbuster checked and found that the medic skin was cracked.. surprise.. I didn't get a hardware ban however, so I will check the skin combinations and get back at you people on here.

It doesn't say char01, 02, or 03 are cracked so maybe I can just leave those as they are sniper, heavy and assault.
