| Lurker | warlock talent builds - opinions what's the biggest (most popular) talent builds for PvP and PvE? so far, i hear that straight demonology is good for leveling and that the new extension of the SM/RUIN build is best for raiding (for level 70) and that straight destro is good for PvP. |

| Registered User | Re: warlock talent builds - opinions Hello i have a lvl 70 warlock on baelgun server my guild is doing great in endgame and i have found that destruction works really good for pvp. I would suggest getting backlash because when your fighting a melle class you will get a 20 percent chance to get a no cast shadowbolt in. I also suggest getting soul leech and shadowfury. Soul leech because after you hit the person ur fighting with a shadow bolt it will heal you so that will help and getting shadowfury increases your dps by a lot it stunnes and does 1k damage easily and it has a 20 sec cooldown which is also helpful. Also going demonoly and affli doesn't hurt either your health will go up by a lot in demonology and your dps will go up by a lot in aflli |

| Lurker | Re: warlock talent builds - opinions The build i'm currently working to filling out is affliction 17/distruction 44 Its built as such: Affliction: Suppression 5/5 Imp. Corruption 5/5 Imp Drain Soul 2/2 Imp Lifetap 2/2 Amplify Curse 1/1 Nightfall 2/2 Destruction: Cataclysm 5/5 Bane 5/5 Devistation 5/5 Shadowburn 1/1 Intensity 2/2 Distructive reach 2/2 Imp. Immolate 5/5 Ruin 1/1 Emberstorm 5/5 Backlash 3/3 Conflag 1/1 Soul Leach 3/3 Shadow and Flame 5/5 Shadowfurry 1/1 The benifits of this build are emense. Some parts are prefference... or one is anyway. Specificaly the imp drain soul. This is mainly for mana regaining during pvp. 15% total mana back if you drain and gain a soulshard. if you average at 65 say 5k mana thats a good chunk back. Now where this one has downfalls. You dont get the boosted stamina with the demonology tree nor do you get beefy pets. You also loose some on your dots. The problem is with DoTs in PVP is you have to wait for your target to die while they are buisy killing you. This rectifies that quite nicely on the PVP end. If, say, a warrior decides you're going to be quick kill they will quickly become the quick kill. Backlash coupled with soul leach and your dots working (nightfall bonus here) will give you an instant (melee activated) SB or incinerate. if you have immolate on them bonus for you pain for them. I've hit for over 2k crits with immolate with nearing 400 bonus damage. Now this is fun because with all that (i've yet to fill out so im not 100% but will test and re-post) if your nightfall procs thats ANOTHER instant spell... a shadowbolt. With shadow and flames it adds more bonus damage neggating the neccessity for the SM from affliction tree. How this works... you dot around the field as much as possible letting people rot. Warrior comes and hits you. You dot him up as quick as possible... immolate at least... you proc backlash... Nuke with incinerate (less mana and with this build just as much damage as SB), then while your dots work hopefully you get a nightfall proc and nuke again... now each of these is probably doing 1k damage NON crit... with dots added in doing anywhere between 8-1200 damage each... throw in a conflag just for fun wich i've had crit for 1800ish... your pounding out 8k damage in a matter of 30 seconds. If you get in a jam? you have healthstones, pots, deathcoil... not to mention all these nukes are probably returning health to you. 20% of the damage in fact... i've been returned 450 health off one spell so you do the math... Some of the DPS is dependent on crits. However at 65 and with only marginal gear (new greens and one maybe two blues) im pulling almost 18% crit rate.. roughly 1 in 5 spells. You should be able to pull this off with minimal effort and be an absolute nightmare on the field and off. I've taken out 3 even level mobs at a time with my VW out and him only tanking 1. I was buisy with the other 2 and still had half life when i was done. Give it a try and find out for yourself. Im only worried about the nightfall/backlash components of the build because i dont have the talent points to test im affraid they MAY be mutualy exclusive. (only one active at a time in other words). Oh well when i hit 70 and test i will verify my findings!!! happy hunting all and hope this might lead to your own uber builds. |
