Stick with, duel wielding dagger (main hand) and sword (off hand), and a good mix of hte combat, assassination, and Deception trees. If you do it right you have more points in the combat tree than anything. only like 8 pointsin Assassination.to increase some damage to crit, and eviscerate I think..deception, you should work to improved sap. ^_^ and use Master of Deception and maybe some points to increase stealth speed, but make sure you get enough to get all 3 points in Imp Sap.

The build I have up to level 48 is as follows..

Assasination
3 Evicerate
5 Malice

Combat
2 Improved Gouge
2 Improved Sinister Strike
5 Lightning Reflexes
1 improved Backstab
5 precision
5 duel wield spec
1 dagger spec

Subtlety
5 in master of deception
1 camoflague
4 opportunity

remember its 48 and i'm not done building it. But the damage output with the items I do have (in live) is pretty good with that. Crit is up to 18%..which is fairly high at 48..this rogue is built mainly, in the end, for dungeon crawling. It will eventaully maximize the skills needed for that. Which even in a private server you need some of that so, even if you can Solo UBRS you still need to Improved Sap so you dont get jumped :p Everyones build is different but that should give you an idea about where I'm going..and that way you can make a decision about where to go yourself. If you want pure damage output..just do very little in Subtlety and put more in Assassination and combat.

I found after making quite a few rogues that dual wielding swords is a lot quicker and easier for leveling.

Usually the slow weapons go on the main hand. and the faster ones go on the off-hand. Someone told me that...

I only say dagger in main hand so you can utilize backstab, and ambush and other dagger only skills that can in turn cause high amounts of damage. Of course most rogues by 60 end up duel wielding daggers because of thier damage output, utilizing dagger skills along with everything else. Makes for some powerful force, pvp or pve.
