[Guide] How to connect to a private WoW Server

A hopefully simple process on how to connect to a private WoW server.

1. Download & Install the game using torrents.
( [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] )

2. When the game is -FULLY- installed, get the latest patches.
1.12 Full Patch[US]- [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
1.12 Full Patch[UK]- [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

-Then- upgrade to 1.12.1 (That is, if the server you want to connect to is using that)

1.12 to 1.12.1 Patch [US]- [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
1.12 to 1.12.1 Patch[UK]- [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

3. Now at this time you should have a fully installed WoW game with the 1.12.1 patch.
You now need to set your Realmlist.wtf file. Head to your WoW Main Directory and locate realmlist.wtf.

4. Open the file with notepad or any other word program, and it should look something like this:
set realmlist [serveraddress]
EXAMPLE SERVER:
set realmlist gryphon.hav0c.com

5. Go to your server's homepage, and create an account for the gameserver.

6. Open up WoW, and start playing!

Yeah well. WoW Is a big game. It's about 2-4gb. Please comment if anyone would like to.

It's much easier if you download the install client from fileplanet. (Download Manager) It's easier and quicker.

hey dude.. one question..

after downloading the torrent. do i need to patch it to 1.4.0 enUS patch?
(its the one included in the torrent)

and another thing..

can i directly patch it to 1.12.1 without patching to 1.12.0??

No, you can't patch it directly to 1.12.1. And use the other links provided for 1.12.0 and 1.12.1.

i just have one question, is the world that you play in created by the person who runs the server or is it identical to that of the WoW world?
