World of Warcraft on an Xbox 360 controller

Some new third party software has just been announced that will enable you play World of Warcraft with an Xbox 360 gamepad. Blue Orb is offering its Switcblade software that is “designed to allow gamers to play Blizzard’s massively popular World of Warcraft using an Xbox 360 controller.”

I hope a lot of dumbasses start using this in BG and Arenas later, will be very fun pwning their asses. I doubt they'll use it in bgs and arenas though.

One can only hope.

As the article says, "This is currently only available from Xfire the community platform. Switchblade’s first compatible game is WoW, and others are slated to follow. The good news is that it’s available today and it’s free!"

This software will most likely be used for grinding, farming, and other activities that take little effort.

It's not bad, if this software is really useful for farming and questing.

Re: World of Warcraft on an Xbox 360 controller

I use Windows 360 Controller - $49.99 - It has no decent drivers for any games, so I downloaded Pinnacle Game Profiler - Price too low to worry about -. It's universal to any game, and all you have to do is map the buttons to keys used in wow, and it has a setting for shift keys so that you can have a maximum of about 48 different buttons, but I'm guessing there are even more combinations with more than just 2 shift keys.

PS. This is not practical past being a drone tank or a rogue. Keyboard + Trackball = Pure awsomeness over any bs controller setting. This probably is why blizzard never intends to release a console version. The complexity is too much to handle.
