    Introduction

Pudge, the Butcher is used in game very often. Which many 50% of players don't know the real and right way to play Pudge but
the other 50% do know tactics and technique to play Pudge. Well this guide will be for those 50%.

    Hero Statistics

    Affiliation: Scourge
    Attack Animation: 0.5 / 1.17
    Damage: 52 - 58
    Casting Animation: 0.3 / 0.51 Armor: 2
    Base Attack Time: 1.7
    Movespeed: 285
    Missile Speed: Instant
    Attack Range: 128 (melee)
    Sight Range: 1800 / 800

    Str: 25+3.2
    Agi: 14+1.5
    Int: 14+1.5

    Skills

    Meat Hook (Active) == [T]

    Level 1: 100 damage, 400 range.
    Level 2: 200 damage, 600 range.
    Level 3: 300 damage, 800 range.
    Level 4: 400 damage, 1000 range.

    Manacost: 140 Cooldown: 14 seconds

Comments: This skill is a very important skill for Pudge. Just like his life. This skill is use to drag your victim and return to Pudge, which is use
in ganking and rescuing friends. It will 'ministun' the target for a very very short time, which will disable victim's casting skills and teleportation.
    Damage type is physical.

    Rot (Active) == [R]

    Level 1: 25 damage/sec. 20% slow.
    Level 2: 50 damage/sec. 20% slow.
    Level 3: 75 damage/sec. 20% slow.
    Level 4: 100 damage/sec. 20% slow.

    Manacost: N/A Cooldown: N/A

Comments: This skill is also another important skill for Pudge. This kill can be active anytime as it costs no mana and no cooldown but will costs
Pudge's HP. Every second Rot had been activate, Pudge will take damage. This skill slows the enemies too allowing you to kill enemies easier.
This skill can be use during Dismembering, too. But when silenced and Rot is activated, you cannot deactivate Rot until the silence time wears off.
    Damage type is magical.

    Flesh Heap (Passive)

Level 1: Gives Pudge 4% extra resistance to spells. +0.03 STR for each creep killed (0.9 for heroes)
Level 2: Gives Pudge 8% extra resistance to spells. +0.06 STR for each creep killed (1.2 for heroes)
Level 3: Gives Pudge 12% extra resistance to spells. +0.09 STR for each creep killed (1.5 for heroes)
Level 4: Gives Pudge 16% extra resistance to spells. +0.12 STR for each creep killed (1.8 for heroes)

    Manacost: N/A Cooldown: N/A

Comments: This skill is usually learn after Rot and Hook were maxed. This skill provide Str to Pudge from killing every type of units including illusions. And will give Pudge more magic resistance to reduce damage taken from Rot and other spells. Spell resistance stacks with items. Haha, killing himself
    will not get Str, though.

    Dismember [Ulti] >>> (Passive) >>> Sceptre upgradable == [D]

    Level 1: 75 damage per second. (+ 0.75 x Str damage)
    Level 2. 125 damage per second. (+ 0.75 x Str damage)
    Level 3: 175 damage per second. (+ 0.75 x Str damage)

    Manacost: 100/130/170 Cooldown: 30 seconds

Comments: This skill is use with Pudge's combo. Pudge will bite the victim, pausing the victim and deals damage. CAn alos use on magic immune units.
It's a channeling spell, so it can be disable by stuns, etc. If affected by Sceptre, Pudge will heal himself while biting. HP healed equal to damage dealt.
    Damage type is magical.

    Pro and Cons

    Pros

    1. High Str, able to gain more Str from Flesh Heap.
    2. Abilities is useful in team and ganking.
    3. Good combination of abilities.

    Cons

    1. Low move speed and attack rate.
    2. Low armor.
    3. Is very weak at late game.
    4. Abilities cannot kill enemies without support.

    Skill Build

    1. Hook
    2. Rot
    3. Hook
    4. Rot
    5. Hook
    6. Dismember
    7. Hook
    8. Rot
    9. Rot
    10. Flesh Heap
    11. Dismember
    12.-14. Flesh Heap
    15. Stats
    16. Dismember
    17.-25. Stats

[size=2]Comments: This skill build is usually build in 90% of all games, which maybe you don't build like this. I max Hook first because Hook is the most important skill early game! With low level of Hook, Hook got low range and damage and you won't be able to gank farther. The second skill maxed is
Rot becuase Rot is the second important skill for Pudge. It got the ablities to slow and deals damage which is great in combo and ganking

    Item Build

    1. HoT + HoT
    2. BoT
    3. Hood of Defiance >> Khadgar Pipe of Insight.
    4. Aghanim's Sceptre
    5. Optional (Orb Effect, etc.)

Comments: Pudge's very important and main items are HoT, BoT and Hood. The rest are really optional. And optional means you can get 2 HoTs.
This Item Build is for late game/ending game if you have money. You should get these items if you are able to.

    Strategy

    Early Game

In the beginning, get empty bottle if you go mid or ring, potions if go on R and L. Try the best you can to last shot. Pudge needs money for the most
important item, Hood of Defiance which will reudce Rot damage. Try to hook enemies if you have the chance in your lane and harass your victims the
best you can. That will give Pudge more money due to easier last shoting. If you can, farm until you get Hood of Defiance and boot. It's very hard if you
don't last shot well. If you're in lane R and L, buy another ring (If got 1 ring) when your money reached. And then Planewalker's Cloak to reduce damage
from Rot use in early game. When you got Hood of Defiance and boot, it's the time you go ganking with it's awesome combo, Hook + Rot + Eat= Dead.

    Mid game

After you got Hood of Defiance, try to get BoT so you can chase your enemies with Rot long time. During that farm and buy some recipe of HoT. It could be Vitilality Booster. So it would be easier to get HoT. In this time, you should get a lot of kills with your ganking abilities, push lanes with Rot. But you
must becareful when you're alone. Pudge is very defenceless when alone and very weak is he fight alone with many enemies.

    Late Game

You can get HoT now. You must have one if there's more time and you got the money. It's the last important item for Pudge. Which will allow Pudge to chase victims with Rot from your base to enemies' base in a very long time as your hp regenerates very fast. But do also becareful! It's late game and
other heroes are no pwerful, too. Pudge is more when late game. But his regeneration and Hp is very high.

Ending Notes: You are welcome to suggest and comments. Fell free to ask about Pudge's guide. I will update the guide if you want me to do something.
And the last thing is I really hope this guide helps you a lot! Thanks for reading.

I would not suggest pudge going mid... Usually in more competitive games mid will be solo and pudge has great lane synergy. Also bottle first =/= unless one of your teammates has chick/crow up already. HoD rush is good, upgrade later to pipe perhaps. Aside from that decent guide, but Pudge is such a hands on hero you should add screenies/videos of good hooks. Good hooks make or break Pudge as a hero and ganker, the least you could do to improve the guide is add a compilation of hook spots.
